Today we looked at Mr.Schick's power point that has something to study from.

Environmental Geography- North Americans have transformed the land.

Air modification is pollution like from automobiles. when this pollution goes in the air it causes acid rain. Acid rain can cause a lot of damage.

Population and Settlement- 3.2 mil in US, + 1.2 mil in Canada. 95% of Indians died after Europeans arrived (warfare & disease, especially smallpox)

Rural-to-urban- country people moved to city. 2oo years ago 5% lived in urban in 2008 82% do.

Growth of the Sun Belt South. After 1970, southern states grew quickly. Job opportunities, retirement possibilities

Counterurbanization-More affordable-Less crime-Better schools-Easier retirement

Cultural coherence & diversity- Immigrants have been arriving for 400 years.
